Frequently Asked Questions

AeroGardens are designed to help you grow your own herbs, vegetables, salad greens or flowers at home. Our Seed Pod Kits are compatible with every model of AeroGarden. Planting with Seed Pods is fun and easy! Just insert the pre-seeded pods in your garden, add water, and the patented, specially formulated Liquid Nutrients. Most plants germinate within 7-14 days, are ready for harvesting in 4-6 weeks, and will keep producing continuous harvests for up to 6 months and longer. Indoor gardening can’t get any tastier or simpler!
Each of our Seed Pod Kits are tested for germination and expire one year after that date. To give you seeds the best chance to germinate, we recommend storing extra kits in a dark, cool, dry place. This will keep them cool and the seeds dormant until you’re ready to plant them in your AeroGarden. Some people store them in the vegetable drawer of their refrigerator in an airtight container or bag.
Fruiting vegetables, like tomatoes, peppers, and Fairy Tale eggplants, do require a little more attention and care than herbs, flowers, and salads.
The trellis is an accessory that helps support medium and tall plants, such as tomatoes, peppers, and eggplant. Help your plants grow taller by supporting them before they develop heavy fruit. We have trellis systems available for Bounty and Farm models. For smaller gardens, like the Sprout and Harvest, try bamboo sticks, chopsticks or our Soft Ties to support your plants. Stick them down inside the grow pods next to the stem. Plants will grow up leaning into them or you can tie gently to the support. Early support can keep plants from collapsing under the weight of the fruit (tragic if it happens just before harvest).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE LOVE LOVE IT Our young adult boys bought my hubby & I a 6 pod Aerogarden for Christmas as we enjoy plants, flowers by our pool and growing a small garden. We were amazingly surprised by the growth & it was the first thing our 6 year old grandson, daughter and youngest son would check when they came to visit us. This puppy Does bark meaning " Works Superbly as Advertised" We had fresh mint (great in my tea), basil, tie basil, dill, etc lickedy split. Going for greens this time for smoothies & salads. Then maybe flowers & pepper, tomatoes. The check on the plants growth brought a smile to everyone's face. Thank you much for an excellent product lm

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Tomato and pepper custom seed kit I was so excited to grow cherry tomatoes and jalapeño peppers in my aerogarden since my herb garden was such a success. It’s been almost 8 weeks and I’m not even getting any flowers as it says I should. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong but these particular pods aren’t nearly as user friendly as the herb garden. I am at a loss as to what else I can do after I have followed the instructions to the letter as well as following suggestions from others online who have had this problem. I do not expect to purchase these again unless I see flowers and fruit from the plants.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Jalapenos! I absolutely love all the AeroGarden seed pods and have tried so many of the herbs and lettuces, but decided recently try out the jalapenos. They take a little bit longer to grow but once they do, they are amazing. Mine say that they are "mini jalapenos" but they are pretty much the size of a standard jalapeno.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy and idiot proof Every single part in this kit grew a bountiful plant for me. After my plants were about 4 and a 1/2 months old I moved them outside and they are still doing good

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Buyer Beware I have purchased several seed packets over the last year. The most recent was tomatoes and peppers. The soil underneath the cardboard cover (that gives you the name of the seed pod) is mildewing. The plants will not grow. Out of the last 12 I purchased, 3 were "dead" and did not grow.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tomatoes for the Winter My tomato pods are going crazy -- three red and three yellow. I will have fresh tomatoes all winter! I've done tomatoes before and they really do well in the Aerogarden - just remember to pollinate!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Abundant delicious Heirloom Cherry Tomatoes 284 days ago I planted 1 of 9 tomato seed pods. They sprouted quickly, began to fruit faster than expected, ripened equally as well, and we have enjoyed them since. The plant is huge, and has produced an incredible harvest. Expecting the plant would die after a few months, I added a second tomato pod. Well!!! We have two huge plants in 1 Bounty Garden. Together they have gifted us with more tomatoes than my outdoor garden (which became infected with ground squirrels this year, when the neighbors began reworking their land.) Needless to say, my Bounty Garden is less work, easy access, and offers yummy eating tomatoes...I will be planting more indoor tomatoes as soon as these two plants stop producing. (I did start to feed them 2x in a 14 day cycle, which appeared to maintain the growing/ripening process. Question? How do I get/transplant this huge plant stem and root system safely out of the Bounty's designated opening to give the plant more room?)
