Planting with Seed Pods is fun and easy! Just insert the pre-seeded pods in your garden, add water, and the patented, specially formulated Liquid Nutrients. Most plants germinate within 7-14 days, are ready for harvesting in 4-6 weeks, and will keep producing continuous harvests for up to 6 months and longer. Indoor gardening can’t get any tastier or simpler!
Lettuce is one of the fastest-growing indoor crops and it's a staple. Who doesn't love to be healthy with delicious home-grown lettuce, or add a fresh leaf of romaine on their sandwich, or a salad of tasty arugula? And with AeroGarden, you can enjoy delicious Spring greens all throughout fall and winter! As a general rule, never prune more than ⅓ of any plant at once.
Different types of plants take different amounts of time to germinate and grow. In general, we’ve found these germination timeframes to be consistent:
- Flowers take about 7-12 days
- Salads: 5-8 days
- Herbs: 5-15 days
- Fruiting vegetables (such as tomatoes and peppers): 7-14 days If any of your seed pods don’t germinate after 21 days, contact us so we can send out a replacement for you under our 100% germination guarantee.
After each planting, we recommend cleaning and sanitizing your AeroGarden for the best results.

Four of nine did not grow
I love AeroGarden and have planted five different times since my husband gave this to me two Christmases ago. However, this time when I planted the new 9-pod custom herbs ... only five of the nine bloomed. The Tarragon, Chives, Thyme, and Oregano never came up at all. I returned them after 32 days of trying and customer service promptly replaced those four. I am 16 days into the new planting of these four and the chives have emerged, but I see nothing from the other three yet. The five that are growing are great ... bountiful and beautiful. I am just disappointed it has been so challenging to get the other four replaced and still not growing.

good most of the time
So far these kits have been great. Low maintenance and I love having fresh herbs at the ready. A couple of things for other customers. Don't bother with cilantro, I have had 6 and not one of them has sprouted. Chamomile will take over FAST if you don't keep it in check. Lavender is pretty much also a miss as expected because these plants hate to be wet. You MUST change the water every other cycle or you will get disease. Basil and dill are by far the best producers. Thyme does pretty well also. Aerogarden will always replace pods that don't sprout but some just aren't meant to be.

Substandard Seed Pods
II have loved Aero Garden for a long time and given 5 as gifts but for the past two years each kit I order, most of the pods either mold or come up and then die. They are not cheap but when they do not grow, this is a problem.
When I was first ordering packets from the company, every single pod grew beautifully. Something has changed. I think perhaps old seeds are being used.
I cannot get anyone to help me. Two times I was sent replacement pods but over half didn’t come up either.
I wish this could be rectified as the Aero Garden is a wonderful product IF it can grow plants.

Hard to review items that haven't grown!
I recently purchased 6 new herbs. Instead of the standard 6 pack which I don't like, I choose my own custom selection: Italian Parsley, Thyme, Dill and Chervil. The Chervil has not taken,one Dill is struggling and no sign of the second (I bought two). This is extremely disappointing. One of the main disappointments, besides the cost, is that the custom packs are not available in the UK and I had to wait until I was in the United States,make a purchase and now back home almost four weeks later, no sign of the Chervil taking and only one Dill plant (I bought 2) is starting to grow. Very disappointing indeed.

Never sprouts
I bought a variety pack and half never sprouted. I contacted customer service to order more. I planted a new pack with the replacements over a month ago and the replacements didn’t sprout either. It difficult to deal with replacements because once the plants that do sprout get to big you can’t plant fresh ones because the light cannot go close enough and the shade from the other plants blocks the light for the sprouts. I noticed it is very plant specific, I have never had trouble with Basil or thyme but everything else never grows. I have planted 4 times now and I average half never sprout.

Fun! Fun ! Fun! AND ample herbs!!
I have been using a 6-pod herb AeroGarden for the past year. I love it! Grows herbs well (only an occasional pod fails to grow- and AeroGarden replaces it for free!). My 6-pod garden is a bit loud (compared to the very quiet one my parents got 2 years ago), but otherwise delivers what it promises!!! Fun and great for apartment/townhouse/etc. living where it may be hard to have an outdoor garden (or much space for an indoor garden). Highly recommend!!!!

Very Disappointed
I expect companies to have occasional problems, but not the same ones over and over. I have had a Bounty since May 2019. The 1st herb kit sprouted completely. That is the last time I have had 100% success. Since then about 10% of the rosemary germinates. I have also had very little success with the cilantro. The last two orders have had 1 of 4 cilantros germinate, while 3 of the 4 holy basil where a different type basil, even though they were marked as holy basil. They will send you replacements, but it usually takes about two weeks to receive after waiting 3 weeks for them to sprout. Five weeks apart is far too long to be able to catch up with the ones that did germinate and were as listed and ordered.

Hit or Miss. Half my Lettuces diet so far.
I successfully grew the "Mixed Greens" kit prior to purchasing a variety of lettuces in this 12-pod seed kit. I just planted 5 of them at a time in my Bounty to allow for plenty of room since last time my lettuces got crowded. The Parris Island and Marvel of 4 Seasons grew large, quickly while the Dinosoar Kale and Collard Greens barely sprouted, then shriveled up all burnt looking. I sent a message to customer service with photos but they never got back to me. Just removed and replanted the Marvel (it was growing too big and overshadowing the others) and I'm trying a couple other seed pods from the kit to see how they do. Will update when I find determine if they grow or not.
Be careful. It seems some varieties grow WAY better than others!
