Tomato Tuesday!

🍅 Have you seen these little white nodes on your tomato plant? Don’t worry- they’re just aerial roots! This is an indication that you have a happy and healthy plant that is just looking for more space to grow! 🌱😄

Roasting tomatoes is easy, delicious, and a great way to use your cherry tomatoes growing in your AeroGarden! Keep them whole or slice them in half and toss them in olive oil with some salt and pepper, fresh thyme, and minced garlic. Roast them on a sheet pan at 450 degrees F for 30-40 minutes or until the tomatoes has collapsed. Enjoy on their own or incorporate them into another recipe!

Heard of tomato suckers? They are small shoots that sprout out from between the branch and the stem of a tomato plant and they draw energy away from the main stem, decreasing tomato growth. When growing tomatoes in your AeroGarden, it’s a good idea to trim these when you see them, allowing your plant to focus on production! Remember to never trim more that 1/3rd of your plant at a time.

Skip the pizza dough and use tomatoes instead! Just slice the top off a tomato, gently scoop out the insides (and save for another recipe like salsa or bruschetta), then pack it with your favorite pizza toppings! Bake at 400 degrees for 8-10 minutes or until cheese is bubbly and melted. Let cool for a couple minutes before enjoying this easy and gluten free recipe!
