5 Herbs Everyone Should Grow at Home

We stumbled upon this great article the other day and could not agree more. Better yet, the 5 herbs that they recommend growing, are all herbs that LOVE growing in our AeroGardens.

have had basil growing for 2 months, have made pesto

Getting thoroughly annoyed with my Aerogardens. Love basil. Problem is I currently have six or eight varieties growing and I have to harvest daily! Can't begin to use what I harvest. Still have frost some mornings and can't even move some plants outside to allow other, slower growing plants to start. Just got the herb pods I ordered and I'll need to figure out how to grow some other herbs and let them share the light! Love you guys!

        • Too much growth is often a "complaint" we hear ;) We hope you can find some recipes to use up all that basil before you start your new pods. Pesto freezes really well!

        • Basil butter is super easy to make with all that extra basil. Just take softened, unsalted butter, and combine it with roughly chopped basil. Add a bit of finely minced garlic, and white pepper and salt to taste. You can mix it by hand, with a stand mixer, or in a power blender (I've used my Vitamix). Roll it into logs, seal in saran wrap, and you can freeze it until you're ready to use. It's a great way to entertain guests once we can have parties again.

I have contacted customer service numerous times, and been totally ignored. I’ve been double charged. My delivery never arrived. I have never experienced this level of disrespect and disregard for customer satisfaction .As a nurse during COVID I’ve worked hard for the money I earned . You should be ashamed of yourselves Aerogarden.

    • Hello Roxanna,
First of all we want to thank you for all your amazing effort as a nurse during these crazy times. We do apologize for the delay in response and for any possible delay in this shipment of your recent order. Our warehouse is working extra hard and shipping during these extraordinary times, and our customer service team is responding to inquiries as quickly as they possibly can. We are a small team, and we promise to make this right. A member of our team will reach out to your email in the order they are received. Thank you for your patience.

    • We spoke to Customer Service, Roxanna, to make sure everything was being taken care of. They let us know your duplicate order was indeed cancelled. It can definitely be confusing to see the authorization on your CC, and then see another "charge" and I apologize about that. But rest assured the cost for your order was only charged once, on 5/15, when the order was shipped. You should have it very soon. We apologize for the delay and really want to thank you for your patience and for the work you're doing on the front lines!

My aerogarden was a Christmas gift and I registered it under one year warranty. The right hand side grow light (blue and 4 white) have gone out. I repeatedly contacted Aerogarden re. this and they finally responded asking me to take a pic of the bottom. My cell phone camera goes black when I try to balance the garden with one hand and take the pic. However, I still have the box it came in and took pics of barcode, model # etc
and sent those. Waiting for a response.

    • Thanks for sending in those pics Gloria! The Customer Service team has been working very hard to respond to everyone's questions regarding backorder products, delays in shipping due to COVID and more. I'm sure they will continue communicating with you regarding your grow light and we absolutely appreciate your patience during this time!

  • I am astonished that one of the most used herbs in the world has been left off this list. Oregano! If you are limiting your list to 5, oregano should replace sage. I love sage, but it does not have even half the usage as oregano. In fact I was disappointed that Aerogarden did not have it in the herb package that comes with their garden orders. Thank you.

    • Thanks for the feedback Marilyn! We do love oregano around here. It can be so hard to choose which herbs to put in the kits! I'll make sure our product development team has this note in case we are reconfiguring the Gourmet Herbs kit in the future.

    • Thank you for your patience Emily. I would recommend you keep following up with Customer Service. We have a small team, and they have been working very hard to get through all the messages regarding shipping delays and back order products because of the COVID restrictions. They will follow up with you as soon as they are able!

For Nicole Martin, I have been trying to replace a basil pod that did not germinate via your website all night and it is not accepting my info. Did call a week ago and was told I had to handle via email. Please assist me. Also can I grow heirloom cherry tomatoes and basil together since they are tall plants? If so I would like to order them as well if it is possible during this unsettling time. Is the website accepting orders now? Thanks, Ellen Schworn

    • Hello Ellen, I am sorry to hear that our website is not accepting your info, I have no answer for that :/ I am unable to help you via our blog, you will have to get in contact with customer service (Which I know you tried through our website.) Our phones are down for the time being until the team can catch up, but you can reach them through direct message on Facebook or Instagram, and here is that link if you want to give our website one more chance. https://www.aerogarden.com/contact-support
They will replace your pods once they get all your info. Per your question on cherry tomatoes and basil, yes you can grow them together, I recommend only one pod of each and to always prune them so they are equal height and size so as not to block the other from the light. Thanks for your patience and understanding. In the meantime while you are waiting to hear back from our team, you can use your own seeds in the pods that did not germinate.

Hi! I wasn’t able to ask this on the blog post about plants that look unhealthy (comments closed), so sticking it here. I have been growing an herb garden for 14 days. My thyme started off strong but its growth has slowed and now is turning brown. I added the plant food today as recommended. The unit is by a window but I don’t think there’s any way the water got over 80 degrees—though, I suppose I could check. Any ideas? Is too much light a thing? Thanks!

    • Hello Kristin, sorry to hear about your thyme! I don't believe the lights are the problem. Will you check the roots, what color are they? Our customer service team would love to see pictures and they can send you a replacement pod, no one wants to be out of thyme! You can currently contact them through this link: https://www.aerogarden.com/contact-support or by reaching out on direct message on Facebook or Instagram. Once they get all your info they can send you a new pod. Please be patient, response times are taking longer than average. Thank you
