Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strawberry Grow Bowl Kit The strawberry crowns and grow bowl kit are awesome. My strawberry crowns are all of very good quality and growing super fast. Thanks for making the whole kit and crowns together available as it is very easy to start growing them right away.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A new level of hydroponic growing I have been doing hydroponic growing for two decades and decided to take the next step with ordering the grow bowl. Awesome concept, so easy to set up. One key note, make sure you disconnect the pump before you set up the new option. ☺️

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Took Several Tries But It Finally Worked This has been a journey because of bad instructions from Aerogrow. 2 minutes of water every week guaranteed dead crowns... I went thru 20 of them. I had one last shipment sent from customer service, and decided a change was in order. I watched videos on planting and watering strawberries. I set my watering for 2 minutes every day - 1438 off. BINGO, it has worked perfectly. So well in fact I ordered a second strawberry grow bowl, and it is producing regularly.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Overflow problems with my strawberry bowl kit Extremely disappointed! First the bowl and strawberry pack were delivered without instructions; then when I requested instructions by email I received no response. I installed the bowl and planted the strawberry plants using common sense only to find that after about two weeks the bowl would overflow during watering and continues to do so each time the bowl fills with water. I had to put a pan under the whole unit to keep it from ruining my table.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Trial and Error So, as you can tell by reading the other reviews, following the directions will guarantee some dead strawberry crowns. However, after researching and reading reviews I was able to find a setting that’s worked (so far as I’m on the second set seeing as the first set died) I was given the second set for free and only had them for a little over a week. I’ll have to update the progress in a few weeks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One week. So far so good Planted all the crowns and they almost immediately all sprouted. We were not home when the plants arrived so the house sitter put them in the refrigerator. We planted them about 5 days after they arrived and all have sprouted. We will have to do some thinning soon as the directions say not to grow more than 6 in the bowl. Very pleased with the purchase and excited to see berries in a few weeks!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice once you get past the setup and instructions This bowl is pretty cool....once you get past the instructions and figure out the right water timing for your environment. A critical note, you HAVE to remove the water float sensor (not complicated at all, just pull) or the water cycle stays on constantly. Basically, it thinks there isn’t enough water, shuts off the water cycle, and starts the cycle once water “is added” (drains back down). The instructions say to just ignore the sensor alert and not to add more water. No. The system won’t ignore it, so you have to remove the sensor when you’re setting it up. No big deal, just store for later. Kinda negative - the drain cover doesn’t really latch to the bottom of the bowl, it just sits on top of the hole. So when you’re testing the water with nothing in it (no plants, no coir - empty, nada) the cover floats around. Not really a big deal, but even when you add the four and plants, it may still float and move out of place. Watch it to be sure it stays. Also re the drain cover, the strawberry roots can grow through the holes. Not too much you can do about that, but if you lift the grow bowl out, it also lifts the roots out of the pump and tube. I recommend keeping an eye on that because too many roots can clog the pump. Overall, though, it’s a cool little system. I’ve tried strawberries the normal plug method in the past, and while they’d grow, they wouldn’t fruit or thrive. With this, I had flowers in 2 weeks. The plants included from AG were all viable upon arrival. They weren’t loving life, but they’re healthy and growing (received about a month ago). No berries yet after pollinating, but we’ll see. Don’t forget you can’t keep all 10 plants going, even if they all live. You’ll quickly choke them all out. AG recommended no more than 7 plants at a time I think, but I’d keep it to 4-5. After seeing how this crop does, I’ll probably try other surface varieties.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice for growing with hydroponic pebbles. I’ve used this as a hydroponic system with clay pebbles and it works great and I don’t have to replace the grow medium. Just clean up grow medium when you replant. I had a pretty variegated geranium that lasted three years and bloomed like crazy until it finally died of old age. I used Leica clay pebbles. Nice easy way to grow plants that like moisture and aeration around the roots

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disappointed I received my kit and plants a month ago. Set up was very simple and easy. I decided to plant all 10 plants that came with kit and cut back later if there was over crowding. Well, a month in and only one plant is growing. It is tiny but it is growing. I guess the rest didn't survive the shipping. Im going to have to buy plants from someone else I guess. Pretty disappointing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't work I read all the reviews, blogs and youtube videos as the instructions are scanty. You need to remove the float sensor. All the info out there recommended watering once daily for 2 minutes/day rather than the 1x/week in the instruction manual. I made sure the roots were down and damp and the crown was up and dry and I planted immediately on arrival. None of my crowns grew.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Try another seed kit The prompts on the bounty do not sync up. There are a lot of faulty sensor readings. It is easy to “flood” the garden. Strawberry crowns came without green leaves and looked dead. Difficult to set up. After 22 days there were no changes in the crowns received. Wood chips fall out of the bowl a lot. Try another kit such as the herbs or lettuce which are effortless.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too Early to know how the grow bowl works Planted the strawberries 4 days ago according to instructions that came with the grow bowl & the strawberries appear to be dead, compared to photos of others on an aerogarden facebook group mine did not make it. I have ordered new plants from a nursery today to replace them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from All seems great but nothing is growing as yet It has only been a little over a week since I received the grow bowl and probably too early for it to have sprouted yet, but assuming it does grow it looks like fun ( I cannot rate it a 5 until it has had time to grow)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Plants all died None of the strawberry plants grew, even though I planted them as soon as I got them and followed the instructions exactly. Two greened up briefly after the fountain ran, then died.
