Frequently Asked Questions

AeroGardens are designed to help you grow your own herbs, vegetables, salad greens or flowers at home. Our Seed Pod Kits are compatible with every model of AeroGarden. Planting with Seed Pods is fun and easy! Just insert the pre-seeded pods in your garden, add water, and the patented, specially formulated Liquid Nutrients. Most plants germinate within 7-14 days, are ready for harvesting in 4-6 weeks, and will keep producing continuous harvests for up to 6 months and longer. Indoor gardening can’t get any tastier or simpler!
Lettuce is one of the fastest-growing indoor crops and it's a staple. Who doesn't love to be healthy with delicious home-grown lettuce, or add a fresh leaf of romaine on their sandwich, or a salad of tasty arugula? And with AeroGarden, you can enjoy delicious Spring greens all throughout fall and winter! As a general rule, never prune more than ⅓ of any plant at once.

Different types of plants take different amounts of time to germinate and grow. In general, we’ve found these germination timeframes to be consistent:

  • Flowers take about 7-12 days
  • Salads: 5-8 days
  • Herbs: 5-15 days
  • Fruiting vegetables (such as tomatoes and peppers): 7-14 days

If any of your seed pods don’t germinate after 21 days, contact us so we can send out a replacement for you under our 100% germination guarantee.

After each planting, we recommend cleaning and sanitizing your AeroGarden for the best results.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This thing works! I bought this for my tomatoes. As soon as they started flowering, I started using this pollinator daily. It is very effective! I can see the streams of pollen coming out of the flower. Often I will also turn a fan on to simulate the wind. I have many tomatoes fruiting, with more popping up every day.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bee Pollinator I was a little concerned with my tomato plants. I wasn't getting very many tomatoes. Have to say it works. I have gotten three times the amount from last year.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from great for 2 weeks and that was it I bought this and I loved it when it worked. It lasted 2 weeks and worked great and then it just stopped working. I put new batteries in and still nothing. I just use a new, soft paint brush to pollinate now. It takes longer but it's much cheaper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from MY OWN PERSONAL BEE! I love the little bee pollinator. I haven't been able to use it yet, but I will with my tomatoes. Last year I was growing cherry tomatoes in my apartment and I took my plant outside for pollination at the apartment complex and was told by the building security to take it in as I was not allowed to set my personal plant outside at any time. Shocked, this drove me to my computer and this is how I located Aero. I'm thrilled with the two plant growing containers I have purchased and I plan to purchased more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thanks for replacing my pollinator I was upset for receiving one which didn't work. I contacted customer service, then I received a new one. It works well. I am so happy for that. Thank you

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Waste of money This is the third pollinator in our family. I just put batteries in the new one and it seems to work. My first one lasted about a month then quit. The second was purchased by my daughter and did not work out of the box, (yes, she put batteries in). We discovered that a used child's electric toothbrush works just fine and is much cheaper.

Questions

How does the bee pollinator work?

Asked by: sb67
Any plant that flowers needs to be pollinated. In nature, bees and wind currents assist with the pollination cycle. Since we don’t have bees or naturally occurring wind currents in our homes, we have to pollinate all flowering plants growing in our AeroGardens. We carry a tool called Be the Bee (https://www.aerogarden.com/be-the-bee-pollinator.html) that makes pollinating tomato and other flowering plants quick and easy. It is battery operated and the soft vibration makes it easy to pollinate flowering fruits and vegetables for higher yields.

How and when do I use the bee pollinator? Also, for cherry tomatoes, the instructions say to have only one healthy plant per pod and to prune any others. At what point do I cut away the others? I have 3 small (few inches) plants growing from each pod now.
