Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use I bought these directly from Aerogarden (instead of a box store) because I could get a larger quantity and a better price. The plugs are much nicer than the ones that originally came with my Aerogarden that I bought about 3 years ago. It is easy to get seeds into these new plugs and they don't seem to become too wet for the seed to germinate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from TIP- if you have a fit problem. I read reviews that have trouble getting them to fit. I put them in a bowl of warm water for at least 1/2 an hour before planting. Of the 50 I plant each year only 2 were too small this year.( 5 last year). I use toothpicks on these. Push it into the side & the pick will hold your sponge in place.Sometimes you have to angle it a bit. You'll figure that out when you try this. After roots establish well they will hold the sponge. I don't use the plastic cages with this method even though I have them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great gift maker! I have had the 9 cell garden for 3 years and love it. There is always something to grow and eat throughout our long winters in Green Bay, Wisconsin. I also like to start seeds for gifts. Just finished potting and giving away Italian as well as curly parsley plants to friends. Nice to get something green and fresh this time of year when everything is cold, wet and brown! Can't beat parsley buttered red potatoes!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Grow Sponges 50 Pack Love these sponges to grow my herbs. The only negative (if you even want to call it that) is that most of my plastic grow baskets are the shorter one. So I had to cut the sponges. Not sure if I can use the cut pieces somehow. The seeds germinate very fast. I love that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful This is the second time I have bought these sponges. I had researched & understood that plants would not start up as quickly with the sponges. I didn't find that the case, they started really fast. Gives me much more options when I can purchase my own seeds, plus less expensive than buying the already loaded seed pods. I highly recommend the sponges, just make sure you save the old plastic holders for the sponges as they can be reused.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Germinate Vegetable Seeds in Half the Time My husband bought me a 50-pod AeroGarden several years ago for Christmas. I use the peat pods to start vegetable seeds for our Summer and Winter Vegetable Gardens. We both love it. Our vegetable seeds germinate in half the time they otherwise would if we planted them in the ground. It is fun to watch them each day as they sprout and grow. After ten days to three weeks, we plant them in small containers using potting soil and leave them further develop their root systems for a like period of time until we transplant them into our vegetable garden. Now, instead of depending on the seedlings available at our local box store and nurseries, we can shop the Internet for vegetable varieties of our liking and grow them in our backyard.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ok, smaller than in the past I purchased these in the past and these are definitely smaller. I thought they would expand once saturated, but the didn't they do not fill the baskets

Rated 3 out of 5 by from fungus on the tops Within days seeds sprouted, but so did fungus on the top of about 1/3 of the grow sponges. By the time I was ready to plant into pots (about 3 weeks) algae was growing on tops of some. I have used these in the past and have not experienced this quantity of fungus before.
