The AeroGarden Grow Bowl allows for a new type of hydroponic growing in your AeroGarden Ultra, Bounty, and Bounty Elite (garden not included). The Grow Bowl creates a new type of hydroponic system that allows transplanting live plants that like drier conditions such strawberries, bonsai, dwarf fruit trees, orchids, mini roses and more! The special controls on the Ultra, Bounty, and Bounty Elite allow for the Grow Bowl to be watered and drained at regular intervals, creating the perfect environment for a wide variety of plants. Now there are more ways than ever to experiment and see what you can grow in your AeroGarden!

The Grow Bowl requires a growing media at least 3mm in diameter, such as aquarium gravel or our Chunk Coco Grow Media (sold separately). Package includes Grow Bowl and instructions. Grow Media, Strawberry Crown Kit and AeroGardens sold separately.

I was curious about the grow bowl and decided to purchase one a few months ago. I recently grew some African Violets from seed and transplanted them into hydroton stones in the grow bowl. The plants took off immediately and are absolutely stunning now.

I have another unit, along with the bowl, coming for Christmas and plan to grow Streptocarpus, then eventually want to try orchids.

These bowls are more for people who like to try new things and grow plants that would otherwise drown with roots constantly in water.

The 3 star rating is for two reasons 1. There is isn't much documentation on what else to do with with them. Some people would likely get confused by how it works. 2. These plastic bowls are pricey for what they really are, just plastic.

I recommend the bowl, but only for more experience gardeners. (Posted over a month ago)

Day 1, planted 11 crowns (I ordered bowl but crowns came too).
Day 2, crowns already have a green leaf.
Day 3,. More green.
Day 4, flower buds on 4 crowns.
Day 7, 4 flowers bloomed. The plants are relatively small for blooming. Outside strawberries grow a lot more leaves before blooms show. This is amazing.
