I am new to the aerogarden, just a few months, but this is the best thing I have ever done, so much fun, so easy to follow simple instructions.
I did see mold on one plant, but my plant continued to grow and thrive, I read the peroxide tip and issue solved (and I do live in Mississippi, very humid) ... I could go on all day long about how fantastic the seeds and gardens are, but I wont, all I need to say is AWSOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE (Posted over a month ago)

Mine are all thriving and I am loving these! I love cooking with fresh herbs, I love the smells and the flavors, and it feels like I am adding vegetables instead of just adding flavored powders. I love having them in the winter, and i love not having to go out to the garden to clip them for my meal. They are growing right in my kitchen. I am hooked! And again, I love that I can pick the ones I really want to have and use. I had my heart set on certain ones.
Everything germinated within the time frames listed and i am getting great harvests. (Posted over a month ago)

I have purchased several herb seed kits over the years. On a few occasions I have seen a bit of mold, but the plants did just fine. Sometimes my cilantro is slow to germinate, but when it finally does, it grows into a forest. I love my herbs and plant two 7 pod units at a time. This way I can swap the slower growing plants into another garden if necessary. But after a couple of weeks you can't tell the difference. I prune, harvest, eat, freeze and share for weeks. Amazing! First time using this product and like everyone else, it is a hit or miss, but overall very good!
Our dill exploded and tried to crowd out everything so the plants around it were a bit slow, but once we payed more attention to it and started giving a haul to our neighbors every week, it seems to be okay. Not going to use that one again as we don't cook often enough with it.
The chives were slow and droopy but we'll try again next time.
Mint was also slow and turned into a vine with very few leaves. It climbed up the dill, so we'll try again and see how it does without the dill in the way.
The parsley turned out great, but I've been cutting off stalks every few days because it's fun to eat... too much too quickly and now it's not doing that well. Whoops. Will try again.
Next round we are certainly going to be planting our Thai basil a week or two later as our current one seems to have turned into a small tree. Another one that gets donated to our neighbors weekly b/c we don't eat it fast enough and we use it a lot!
The Genovese Basil is also doing well.
Our Cilantro didn't sprout and eventually molded, but with 5/6 healthy plants, we didn't feel it was necessary to call CS for a replacement. I can't wait for my next kit! (Posted over a month ago)

I've had my AeroGarden since I first saw the advertisement. I've had years of great food/herbs/flowers with a rare occasion of a pod or two not growing. They took care of me right away!
I hope the Lady Bug garden is available in about 2 years because that's my Daughter's nick name and she’s 1 1/2. I grew flowers for her this winter in NJ and she loves them!!! She will be a gardener like her mom :)
Not only is this unit special to our family; you get quality products that are home grown, healthy, and always a conversation piece!
I order new kits as soon as they current batch is about to end their term.
Idea: I'm now ordering TWO kits. one flowers one herbs. I'm going to put in a little of both so you have beautiful flowers with fresh herbs. It will be gorgeous! (Posted over a month ago)

I am actually back to try to order the mix/match herbs one more time, but my last batch was a big dissappointment. My cilantro and parsley did ok, but the basil (normally grows like crazy) didn't do well, and the thyme and oregano both molded while sprouting... the chives were just pathetic.

Never had an issue before, so I am back to try again, but if it doesn't work out this time I will just check out the altermnatives for seeds. (Posted over a month ago)

I have used Aerogardens for years. When I lost everything in a house fire, it was one of the first things I replaced. I have often used the custom herb seed kits and until now only one pod failed to grow. Customer service sent me a replacement immediately, but it took so long to sprout it ultimately didn't do well and got crowded out by the other plants. This was not a big deal at all after growing many kits with 100% success. The last kit was different. Things seemed to take much longer to sprout. Also, 4 of the 7 pods either didn't sprout at all or produced tiny sprouts that died as sprouts. I didn't bother getting them replaced and having two separate garden halves. I just hope this next one works out better... (Posted over a month ago)

I agree with the other reviewer: these used to be a reliable, excellent product. The tarragon stopped growing, and now it is not even offered. Sage is no longer offered. The basil still grows well. I hope that Aerogarden will figure out what is wrong. (Posted over a month ago)
Customer Service Response:
Sorry you had trouble with some seed pods! We do have a warranty on them, and hopefully you called for free replacements. Sage and tarragon were never discontinued - we still offer them.-

My Napolitano basil had such big leaves I had to take a photo and share with my friends. It was as big as my hand. I love my aero garden and when I have contacted customer service they have been excellent. One of the best things I ever bought for myself! (Posted over a month ago)

I've had my 7 pod AeroGarden for over 8/9 years and I've never had any issues until recently. The last two mix/match seed kits (Genov Basil) that I received, 4 out of the 7 plants (pods) at first sprout and in early growing stage, started to mold at the very root base of the plant and died. I follow precise instructions with my Garden (ie, water type minerals, enviroment ect...) That's why its in such good shape for having it so long. There needs to be better quality control with these seed products. (Posted over a month ago)
Customer Service Response:
Hi, Basil Feind -

Sorry you are having trouble with mold! Mold doesn't come already on seeds or seed sponges, which are sterilized. It's an air-borne spore that likes humidity and still air and can find a nice home for itself on top of a seed sponge. Are you sure it was on the plant stems? That would be unusual. When we see mold in the plant lab it's on the very top of the seed sponge, and we have seen seedlings growing right through it.
You can't prevent mold, but you can get rid of it by dabbing it with a q-tip moistened with peroxide (don't let that touch the plant!). And if you are seeing mold, don't use the bio-domes - they can encourage mold by raising the humidity and preventing air-flow.
If your seedlings topple over after germination, most likely they've been attacked by damping-off fungi. You can't see the fungi, just their impact on the plant. If you are not doing the bleach sanitizing we recommend between seed kits, now would be a good time to start. And you can spray your seedlings with strong chamomile tea at room temp - it's a fungicide.
