How many hours do the Grow Lights stay on each day? Can I change the timer?

Your AeroGarden has a built-in timer that will automatically turn the Grow Lights on and off. The number of hours the grow lights stay on each day will depend upon the plant selection you have chosen. While you cannot change the number of hours the lights stay on for some models, others offer the ability to customize the lights timer.  You can change the time of day the lights come on with every model. Below you will find a chart showing the number of hours the lights are On/Off for different plant selections, as well as instructions for resetting the lights timer.

Ultra/Bounty/Harvest Touch:  Lights timer is fully customizable through 'Custom Settings,' or just choose your plant type in 'Quick Plant' mode during set up to activate the pre-set lights timer.  You can choose the number of hours that the Grow Lights come on as well as choosing the On/Off times.

AeroGarden 3/3SL/Sprout/Sprout LED:  These models are equipped with a built in grow light timer that automatically turns on for 16 hrs and off for 8 hrs. To change the time of day the grow lights come on, unplug/replug the power outlet cord at the exact time of day you want the grow lights to come ON.  The lights will now come ON at this time each day.

New models manufactured since Fall 2014 will have light reset instructions printed on the control panel.

See the Quick Start/Setup Guide that came with your AeroGarden for exact instructions on how to reset the lights timer, as the procedure will vary by model.
