The seed starting tray for the Aerogarden Harvest was a great purchase. I was able to get a jump on the growing season by starting dozens of salad greens indoors when it was still snowing outside and get them transplanted into newspaper pots filled with soil in time to start my tomatoes, peppers, and eggplants which I'm planting outside this week. My only complaint is the one that the reviewer named Susan mentioned, which is that it's difficult to check your water level with the seed starting tray in place but the convenience of turning one of my Aerogardens into a self-contained seed starting station far outweighs this minor drawback. My only complaint about these new tray systems is that it's very difficult to check the garden's water level while using them--this is particularly important for the Harvest because it needs to have water added much more often than the larger gardens do. Also, I always leave at least one hole open in order to be able to add water without disturbing the plants. Having said that, I find the tray works very well as a way to get a lot of seedlings off to a good start, and it also allows me to keep growing a good supply of baby lettuce or other greens using the cut-and-come-again method. Combining this tray with the six-pod tray makes the Harvest garden a very flexible source of herbs and greens to keep close at hand while I'm cooking! (Posted over a month ago)
